Snow fell all night

All night

To blanket

The whole wide world white,

Leaving crows looking rather sad

And foolish, shaking puffs of white from damp black feathers.

Thanks to Anne for her poem (“Breaking – a Fibonacci poem“) and a link to info on Fibs (poems based on the Fibonacci sequence). You will definitely see more of these from me!

  1. It’s great how this builds, Paul, from the stillness of the opening.
    Nice one! 🙂
(And thanks for the mention too. I’m really glad you liked the Fib poem format, it’s always good to try out something new, I think. 🙂 )

    1. Glad you like it, Anne. I like playing with using one syllable words and multisyllabic words to make up the syllable count – each gives a very different feel and rhythm to the poem. I might try 3 sets of 1-1-2-3-5-8-13 stanzas to give a total of 99 syllables in all – I like the symmetry of it! But I’ll most likely stick to single-stanza poems at first until I get the feel of it better 🙂
